Shadows in the Shallows | Original Stingray Ocean Painting

Shadows In The Shallows | Original Canvas Painting

A tactile exploration of sunlit waters, fluid grace, and the quiet rhythm of coastal life.

The Story & Symbolism

Inspired by quiet, early morning walks along the shores of Navarre Beach, Shadows in the Shallows captures a moment of effortless tranquility as a stingray glides across warm, sun-dappled sands. Painted from an overhead perspective, the canvas brings the viewer right over the water’s edge, watching light and current dance together. The ray symbolizes fluid grace, adaptability, and peaceful navigation through life’s currents, moving with weightless ease through vivid turquoise waters.

Tactile Texture & Craftsmanship

Created during the origins of the Deep Sea Legacy Collection, this piece showcases rich, dimensional mixed-media techniques. A classic crackle finish weaves through the turquoise water, mimicking the web of refracted geometrical sunlight patterns on the ocean floor, while subtle sand textures bring the shoreline to life.

Important Note*  Color varies slightly due to the iridescent nature of the paint used to create this masterpiece.  Iridescent paints refract the light and color of their surroundings, causing a natural yet unique color shift depending on the room, light, and time of day creating a spectacular display of magical changes, just like ocean water.  We did our best to capture the color shift possibilities in the photos, however the true magic appears in real life.
